James Crawshaw
Master Club Builder | Club Fitter | Equipment Adviser to Sussex County
-
James Crawshaw is a fully qualified Custom Club Fitter and Golf Clubmaker, and a member of the Golf Clubmakers Association of Europe. He is one of the elite group of clubmakers in the UK to have qualified to the level of "Master Clubmaker".
After a 20+ year career in IT and business consultancy James was looking for a change of direction which would provide a combination of technical and intellectual stimulation, and exercise his natural craftsmanship. With a keen lifelong interest in the game of golf and a passion to help others to enjoy the game, Golf Clubmaking provided the perfect solution.
In many ways James is a man with a mission. He reasons that the game should be about enjoyment; that golfers get enjoyment from hitting good shots and that a golfer is more likely to hit more good shots using equipment that truly suits his, or her, stature stance and swing. Never one to belittle good technique born from expert training, James sees club fitting and swing training as two very different sides to the same coin. Furthermore he celebrates the recent trends which are bringing custom fitted golf clubs, once the preserve of the elite, to the general golfing community.
Trading as Custom Club Works James has an established clubmaking and club fitting facility at Lindfield Golf Club from which he offers a complete range of club fitting, clubmaking, customisation services. With an expanding customer base, varying from the club golfer to county and professional players, James' experience, expertise, attention to detail and on-going commitment combine to produce a unique and valuable service for golfer in the region and beyond.
