(1) Is the Short Game Academy inside or outside?

The Short Game Academy will comprise both outdoor and indoor elements. Predominantly the indoor area will be for Putting Analysis due to the equipment used. Outdoors will comprise the large putting & chipping green with a seperate pitching green and bunkers.

(2) Will Video Analysis be available?

All Short Game work whether indoors or outdoors will include Video Analysis, even if you are working on your Bunker play. Your analysis will then be sent to your own personal on-line locker.

(3) How is Short Game improvement measured?

There will be a measured handicapping system in place for Members of the Short Game Academy, so that we are able to monitor and track your performance. This will be measured using a series of skill tests for all elements of the Short Game.

(4) Will I be provided with drills to practice?

Our aim is to have many of the drills available for you to view on our on-line golf channel. When you receive the analysis of your lesson, you will be provided with links to specific drills for you to work on to ensure your practice time is as productive as possible whether at the academy or not.

(5) Can I bring friends and/or family?

We will introduce a number of schemes to enable you to either have a Joint Membership or be able to bring Guests along at a Members Rate. Non-members without a Member will be required to pay the daily "Pay and Practice" rate.

(6) Is 35 yards long enough?

Our Short Game area will allow you to play almost any shot you can envisage from within 35 yards, whether it be a flop shot over the bunker or a pitch to a tight pin position. Playing a variety of shots from within 35 yards is aimed at developing touch and feel for those shots that can make a difference to your round. So whenever you miss a green, you will be armed with the shots you need to "recover".

(7) Is it possible to play after practicing on the Short Game Academy?

We are working to develop closer ties with surrounding clubs to be able to offer you preferential rates should you wish to put your practice in to action on one of the nearby courses.

(8) Can I take my bag on to the practice area and can I use my own practice balls?

There is no problem taking your bag on to the Short Game area as it will be a secure location and allows you to keep your belongings together (as well as food & water if you are going to be out there for a while). Practice balls will be provided but if you wish to use your own that this will be fine.

(9) How close is the parking to the Short Game Area?

There is flat, free, ample parking adjacent to the Short Game area so it is only a 10 second walk from the car park. The Indoor studio also overlooks the Short Game area so you will never have far to walk making access to all areas easy.

(10) Do I need to book and how long can I practice for?

At the moment we are planning to operate a booking system for the Short Game area to ensure that it is not over crowded. There is no time limit on your practice session and we will have a comfortable lounge area should you wish to take a break. Daily "Pay and Practice" rates provide access for the whole day.

(11) Will the Short Game area be floodlit?

It is anticipated that the Short Game Area will be Floodlit to ensure evening practice & lessons can take place during the "off-season" when the days are short.
